Does DDG have to be installed or can you just search without install? I searched without install but found adds still followed me.

DuckDuckGo doesn’t seem to provide a facility to filter results by date. A lot of my searches bring up results that are years old. I particularly notice this when trying to get information about software bugs and glitches. Many pertain to long outdated versions of Windows and other software. Most recently, I am trying to get information on coronavirus. Things are changing so rapidly that I want the most recent results, not stuff that’s two weeks old.

I am a teacher at a school with a class set of school chrome books. I’m finding on our Lightspeed System that allows us to monitor appropriate use of chrome books in our school setting that a student frequently is visiting this site. Does you site prevent our school from monitoring whether or not a student is at the learning site they are supposed to be at?

We do not have such systems in place. Also, I don’t understand the problem that you are facing. Can you give more details?

I love DuckDuckGo! The search results are what I want to see, not what Google wants me to see. I used to compare them against each other until I decided DuckDuckGo was better.
If I ever use Google anymore, I see so clearly how they manipulate results.

My first day using DuckDuckGo. I have to say, I’m impressed. I’m so sick of google and remembered someone suggesting DDG, so I gave it a try and will for now on be a user!

Can I have DuckDuckGo and Google installed in my phone at the same time

  • Tim Marrongelli says:

DuckDuckGo has seen a boom in popularity recently, however, so have other private search engines, like StartPage.com & SearchEncrypt.com…

  • Jon says:

How does it compare to Startpage?

  • avp144 says:

I used it for a while but slows down browser navigation and searches in general.

    • Ciprian Adrian Rusen says:

What exactly did you install? A search engine doesn’t slow down browsing navigation.
