Just got Verizon FIOS and for now usng Wifi to connect to my Dell Lattitude E6530 with WiFi N. I read Version transmits WiFi AX, that also backwards compatible to AC and N.

The Verizon Wifi signal to the Modem is the rated 300+down / 300+ up. From the modem to my laptop Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250, Dual Band rated 300 is 90 down / 50 up. The laptop is N and Verizin is AX.

Tested the modem to my cell phone WiFi which is AC anf it was 300+ down/ 300+ up.

So, is my PC Wifi Bad or is this loss of speed due to AX to N transmission loss?

I will be connecting the laptop by Ethernet tomorrow and hop to get full speeds.

Add on: Would an external WiFi 6 USB adapter work in place of the installed PCIe half mini card?

I’m unsure I understood everything because you communicate using too many acronyms and jargon. However, if I understood correctly, if your laptop uses 802.11n, it doesn’t matter if your Wi-Fi 6 router can deliver much more. You are limited by the network card on your laptop, which uses old technology. Using a USB Wi-Fi 6 adapter can provide better results than the built-in laptop network card.

    hi,
i have a Merusys dual band ac1900 router wifi 5 however my new asus computer gives me a much slowr speed when comparing with my phone and other devices..the computer is wi fi 6 while the router is wifi 5..do i have to make any changes so itgives me the same speed as on other devices..? its usually a 40 mbps diff or more..have a 100 mbps plan..on other devices i get consistent 100 give and take a few..but the NEW laptop usally shows around the 60,s or less even and fluctuates a lot..not that it doesnt reach the higher 80 or early 90’s (very rarely ) but drops down again..anythin to do with the settings like 802.11n vs ac vs ax..etc..what could i change ..all the drivers seem up to date and network connection speed is 866 mbps the max i belive..am new to Windiws so dont know much I have an ASUS K15 oled.any help would be apprecited. thanks

Please update this article (https://www.digitalcitizen.life/what-is-80211ax-80211ad-80211ac-80211n-wi-fi-6-wi-fi-5/ ) to include wifi 6e and more recent improvements such as multi stream throughputs.
