Assembling the Trust GXT 711 Dominus gaming desk
The packaging used for the Trust GXT 711 Dominus gaming desk is simple and straightforward. However, it is quite heavy, as the desk alone has 41.8 pounds or 19 kg. The desk comes in a large cardboard box, with a sticker on it, showing you the product that you just bought.
When you open the box, you first see the slab of the desk, covered in a black polyurethane coating.
Inside the box, you find all the other elements that make up the desk, the user manual showing you how to assemble it, and all the screws, stickers, and accessories that you need for assembly.
The assembly process is not difficult if you read the manual, and you can do it yourself. There is no need for a second person, even though that can help you finish the assembly faster. You should pay attention to the steps involved in mounting the steel frame that holds the top slab.
In the end, you mount the top slab and decide whether you also want to have the optional headset and cup holder on your desk.
Unboxing and assembling the Trust GXT 711 Dominus gaming desk is a quick and pleasant experience. Inside the package, you get everything you need to assemble it by yourself.
Design and specifications
The Trust GXT 711 Dominus gaming desk is quite minimalistic. It is all black, and it has a light steel frame, and medium-density fibreboard on the top, with a polyurethane coating that increases its durability. In total, you get 45.6 inches or 116 cm of desk space - enough for two monitors, a computer monitor plus a laptop, or a computer monitor plus a console. The front edge of the desk is angled, for comfortable wrist and forearm positioning.
On the front-left corner of the Trust GXT 711 Dominus gaming desk, you can attach a headset holder. If you use headsets regularly, you are going to appreciate this feature, as it leaves you with more room on your desk.
On the right side of the desk, you can also attach a cup holder. Another useful accessory that it is going to be appreciated by all users.
The Trust GXT 711 Dominus gaming desk also has a cable management system that includes two cable guides. It is going to be helpful to desktop PC users, especially when they have two displays on their desk.
Trust brags about this desk having height-adjustable feet. Unfortunately, the degree to which you can adjust the height is limited, as you can see in the picture below.

Using the Trust GXT 711 Dominus gaming desk
Using the Trust GXT 711 Dominus gaming desk is a pleasant experience. There is enough room for everything you need, including two desktop monitors, or a laptop and a desktop PC. The headset holder and the cupholder are useful, both to grownups and children.
Trust provides users with two different stickers, which you can use on the steel frame, and personalize the desk so that it feels like a gamer's. Since we had to return the review unit, we did not use the stickers, and we just photographed them below.
Many children and teenagers are gamers and love the idea of having their own gaming desk. That's why we decided to ask an 11-year-old to use the Trust GXT 711 Dominus for a few days, and he gave us this feedback about it. He said the following:
- "I love how much room I have on this desk. I can keep my monitor, keyboard, and mouse on it, and still have space left to do my homework."
- "I like the colors and stickers. Can I stick them on the desk?" 🙂
- "I like the fact that there isn't anything to accidentally hit with my legs while I move around the desk."
- "I do not like that the cupholder is far away to the right. I do not see it if I don't look at it, and I forget about my drink."
I also studied him as a spectator, and I did not notice any weaknesses about the Trust GXT 711 Dominus gaming desk, except for the cupholder being a bit too far to reach for children. However, adults should not have this problem.
